BELLEVUE STATE BANK PRIVACY POLICY NOTICE

Protecting your privacy is very important to the Bellevue State Bank and its employees. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. Bellevue State Bank does not sell your personal information to non-affiliated third parties, and we will only disclose your personal information as is necessary for us to provide the products and services you expect from us. To help you understand how we protect your personal information, this notice describes our current privacy policies and practices.

What Information We Collect

We may collect "non-public, personal information" about you from the following sources: 

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others; and
  • Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.


"Non-public, personal information" is non-public information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, non-public, personal information includes information regarding your account balances, payment history, and overdraft history.

What Information We Disclose

We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences or transactions with you and your account (such as your account balance and payment history with us) with companies related to us by common control or ownership (affiliates).

The bank periodically provides credit information to nationwide credit bureaus.  Depending on your personal circumstances, it is possible that the information provided to the credit bureaus may contain negative information about your credit performance with the bank.  The bank pledges to make every effort to ensure that information provided to the credit bureau is fair and accurate.

In some cases, we are also permitted under law to disclose non-public personal information about you to "non-affiliated third parties" (third parties who do not share common ownership with the bank).  For example, we may disclose non-public, personal information about you to third parties to assist us in providing services to you.  These third parties may include such businesses as check producers, governmental agencies, correspondent banks, mortgage loan processors, etc.  Upon inquiry, we will also verify funds on deposit in a checking account to a merchant or individual holding your personal check.  The Bellevue State Bank will not disclose information unless it is necessary to provide the service that is requested.  We will not disclose any non-public, personal information to an third party, except as permitted by law.  If you decide to close your account or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy polices and practices described in this notice.

Our Security Procedures

We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non-public, personal information.

Our Internet Web Site

Visitors to our website remain anonymous. We do not collect personal identifying information about site users, unless you choose to provide identifying information to us. Standard software is used to collect and store ONLY the following non-identifying information about our visitors; 

  • The name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example: aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account)
  • The internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site, if any (for example: www.Yahoo.com if you find us using the Yahoo search option).
  • The type of web browsing software you are using to view our site (such as Netscape or Explorer).
  • The date and time you access our site.


Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail, application, or other feedback form. This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender's request and manage the Web Site. Keep in mind that e-mail is not necessarily secure against interception. If your e-mail contains account numbers, credit card numbers or your social security number, you may wish to consider sending this information to us in another way.
 
Protecting Children

Bellevue State Bank does not knowingly collect non-public personal information from children online. We recognize that protecting children's identities and privacy on­line is important and that the responsibility to do so rests with both the on-line industry and with parents.
